COURSE Japanese language programs

Japanese language programs

Our students get to learn Japanese comprehensively,
dividing their studies into listening, speaking, writing, and reading.

We offer two Japanese language programs: a two-year course that starts in April, and a one-and-a-half-year course that starts in October. Classes are also organized based on level of proficiency in Japanese, so students can take the right one for their own level.

Guidance tailored to each student’s individual needs, provided through a two-teachers-per-student system

AFLS provides guidance tailored to each student’s individual circumstances and level of proficiency. This is achieved by means of a two-teachers-per-student-system, which consists of a homeroom teacher and a class teacher. Besides studying Japanese, students can also take classes in contemporary social studies (Japanese culture, Japanese affairs, current affairs, etc.), and elective subjects such as mathematics in preparation for going on to university.

Develop skills for living in Japan as well

Through school activities such as classroom learning and cleaning duties, students develop the basic skills they will need when they leave school, such as the importance of reporting, contacting people and discussing things, and of being punctual and keeping to deadlines. We also give guidance about rules and manners for living in Japan.
